Well, it was just a matter of time before it happened.
I got enough email from the guys that were in the 4th /23rd AFTER Vietnam but BEFORE the deactivation that I had to create a page for you guys too.
This page and it's contents are for you peacetime "Tomahawks".
You did such a good job of keeping peace, that the Army deactivated us.
The years from 1975 to 1990 saw the Cold War come to an end.
Hence the Department of Defense and the bean-counters in Washington had to chose who got to stay in the Army and who had to go..
Sadly, the 4th Battalion (Mechanized) / 23rd Infantry Regiment "Tomahawks" found themselves on the chopping block.
But still, they served long and proud for 15 more years in peacetime.
Welcome Home "Tomahawks"!!
You all have stories to tell that are just as good and interesting as the war time "Hawk" tales.
So if ya want to see them in print and share them with the world here is your chance..
Send you stories and photos to alpha23@tomahawks.us and I'll get them up as time allows..
